6 months since my relocation!
I can’t believe it’s 6 months since I moved, no regrets and loving my new surroundings. I have enjoyed various shows and exhibitions since being here. Saltaire Festival in the Spring was as great as always, and that weekend was also the beginning of our long hot summer. Staithes Festival was fab too this September and was also proud to be part of The Great North Art Show in Ripon Cathedral this year. I’ve been grateful for plenty of sales at Mick Oxleys Gallery in Craster, Northumberland throughout the summer and Autumn, long may that continue 🙂. Thank you also to Philippa at Weaverbird in Ilkley for having my Cornish paintings on display for a month. Looking forward to Ilkley Christmas Fair at The Manor House in 4 weeks.
And have to say Happy birthday Freya !! 20 years ago today a very special and incredible person came into this world. 😊XXX
Mick Oxley Gallery. Northumberland
Had a fabulous day trip up to The Mick Oxley Gallery in Craster yesterday. I’m delighted to be displaying some of my large ceramic work in this beautiful Gallery by the sea, including this piece pictured, thank you so much !!
A massive thank you to everyone who has supported me during my years in Richmond, my Gallery is now closed and I have happily relocated back to West Yorkshire.
Had a brilliant time at Saltaire Arts Trail last bank holiday weekend.
New work to come..
Inspired trip to Cornwall this spring
I've been very busy working on new paintings after a hugely enjoyable and inspirational trip to West Cornwall this spring, and very eager to return there!
It was great to have been able to show them at Saltaire Arts Festival at the end of May, which was great fun.
All my work is on permanent show at 19 Castle Hill, Richmond. Yorkshire.
Thank you Mary Fishburn (Alex)
A big thank you to Mary Fishburn for inviting me to display a selection of my work in her exhibition 'Contour Lines', now showing at The Station, Richmond until March 4th.
Paintings, large canvases, mixed media, beautifully framed drawings and handmade prints, plus my ceramic work are on display in The Mezzanine Gallery.
Mary recently had a successful exhibition 'Contours' at The Witham, Barnard Castle, and has now brought her extensive body of work to The Station.
Mary is fascinated by the world that surrounds her, and draws inspiration from the diverse Yorkshire landscape, including Richmond, and especially the stunning view of the town from Westfields, using a variety of mediums to describe the differing moods during the day/season.
The detail within nature interests her.. water and rock strata.. and the ever changing colours, line and textures that these sources provide.
She has even recorded, as a series of pencil studies, the contours of the land from the air!
