There is definatly a feeling of change in the air, after the beautiful sunshine summer, I almost don't even mind that much, as September brings new thoughts and ideas, blackberries and dew and even a very slight tinge to the trees over in the woods.
With every end , theres a new beginning to be embraced. Thats going to be my approach to Autumn this year :)
what a gorgeous summer
Hello, sorry its been so long .... what a gorgeous summer its been though.
In July we went on a trip to South Devon for a week of blissful sunshine, and perfect calm blue seas , it was so so relaxing and inspiring and incredibly beautiful, and I was delighted to leave some of my fish at Hope Cove Gallery, and are even more delighted that most have them have sold :) Im on with making lots more to replace them.
I also have some work in a new Gallery in Sheringham, Norfolk called Creativity at Home, which ive heard is very busy too.
I was also lucky enough to have a few days in the North Lakes over the bank holiday and started a painting near Crummock Water.
I currently have a display of work at The White Swan in Gilling West near Richmond if anyone is in the area , it is well worth a visit.
I promise to be on the ball from now on , and endevour to blog weekly :)
Oh, and just to mention , the vintage clothing has been going down a storm as well, i was part of a vintage fair to rai
ive got lots of new pieces of work ready for a Gallery in Norfolk to choose from. I need to upload some photographs to show you, the work really does belong by the sea, so I hope they like it.
I will give details of the Gallery soon.
Also in the recent warm weather, we had a mini home made photoshoot to highlight and advertise the beautiful vintage clothing I also have at 19 Castle Hill. details to follow on that too!
Had a gorgeous relaxing day with my daughter at Runswick Bay yesterday.
We arrived at the coast to find the tide in, very atmospheric, as it was shrouded in mist..... we ate :)
We then went beach combing, I collected just enough seaweed to make some tiles... and we both took lots of photos. Hugely enjoyable and inspirational.
Although eerily beautiful as it was, we were lucky enough to experience 2 seasons in one day as the sun began to shine........bliss........ and arrived home with sand between our toes
Both the fair at The Station and last weeks Festival of Art at Leyburn were both very successful and full of interesting stalls, thank you to Kathryn Guy and Sue Dewhurst for their amazing organizing skills that made both events run so smoothly.
I was also very happy on Saturday when my customers collected their bowl that they had commissioned me, they loved it, and said that they felt it had always been in the spot that they have placed it. its a wonderful feeling to create work that people want to have in their homes.
This week I will be starting a body of work for a new Gallery in Norfolk, which is exciting, its by the sea so I may well have to have a trip to the coast myself for inspiration....... and fish and chips :)
