Caroline enjoys the versatility of clay, it is a perfect medium to create work that allows her to explore her fascination with texture. She builds up surface interest by layering slip, oxides and glazes and firing to earthenware. 

She thinks of her ceramics as 3D abstract paintings. They are are hand built and evolve to become an object that looks as if it may have been found, weathered or forged by the environment. Caroline has always been interested in how time and decay affects objects and the landscape, she endeavours to integrate that fragile beauty into her work.
